From the Lillehammer Mill to Mølla Hotel
By 1990 this was the only working mill left in this part of Norway. Then in 1991, after over 130 years of continuous operation, the mill ground its last load of grain and fell silent – no longer able to compete with more modern facilities.
After a painstaking restoration, Mølla opened as a hotel to welcome guests for the 1994 Winter Olympics. Since then, Mølla has gained fame around the world and was crowned by the Swiss magazine Bolero as:
"one of the world’s most unusual hotels"
